Sorry to see you left the area. Although, the job market is terrible here anyhow. Consider joining Ludington Talks, it's pretty busy, and some Manistee people are on there too. Best to ya. Thanks.
Sad-150 members and no one has anything to say? I left Manistee in 2000-hoping to run into folks I knew here. Keeping up with Manistee news via the Ludington paper and the TV news. I think I surprise my daughter (in East Lake) by some of the stuff I follow. As in Manistee-hit the headlines and obits!! The casino maybe. Been there a couple of times when I was back there-really not much of a gambler, myself. But from what I see, they have some good shows, too.

I see alot more positives all around up in Manistee these last 10 years or so over Ludington. 150 members and all is quiet? Maybe at the Casino? Thanks.
Pamela, I was not a doctor like my grandnephew Craig that I mentioned. I planned and designed highways for the California DOT for 38 years. My nephew was a doctor as a plant pathologist from Michigan State. He was listed in the top 10 in the US. He went on a lot of trips overseas to lecture on certain plant diseases. Craig was on a list of 20 candidates to go up with John Glenn as medical officer on Glenn's space flight but when Craig and his wife found a baby was due, he backed away from going. He did however help train Glenn, Craig is an anesthesiologist and his wife, Michelle, a radiologist at Beaumont Hospital in Detroit. I am going to look further in my genealogy list for Tom Ransdell and will get back to you.

Pamela, on Tom and Ellen Ramsdell, I don't see them on any of my lists but if I happen upon them, I will let you. I talked to Homer a few weeks ago and told him a lot about his great great grandpa (?) or uncle, Ira Ramsdell my great uncle. Most of my info on him is in an 1866 diary of my grandpa. I have the entire genealogy of my family from 1630 and gave Homer the link to the info. The Manistee connection with Homer came about when my grand nephew, Dr. Craig Ramsdell came from his hospital in Detroit to check on one of his patients. On the web site mentioned, I have contacted a few people who are related to me that I had never heard of. On the other side of my family, I will soon be meeting with a relative here in OR, the granddaughter of my great uncle. My grandpa was a doctor and had 3 brothers who were all doctors here in Oregon.

I just added a photo and saw you left me a message.
I was delivered by my grandfather, Dr. Homer Ramsdell, on his birthday, August 16, 1947. Imagine the odds on that happening.
