Manistee, Michigan - The Victorian Port City

Just want to pass this along...
Two amazing women in our community, Nancy Day and Julie Raymond, are organizing an event on behalf of Friends of West Shore Healthcare Foundation. It is a Paint the Town Pink Ribbon Walk on Thurs., Oct. 16 Downtown Manistee (Riverwalk and River Street). The walk is to raise breast cancer awareness in our community and to emphasize the importance of regular screening and early detection. All proceeds will be directed toward the purchase of a digital mammography system at West Shore Medical Center. Registration is 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. on the day of the walk (10/16). Walk will begin at 5 p.m. (sorry, no pets allowed on Riverwalk). There is a $5 donation to participate. Checks may be made available to West Shore Healthcare Foundation.
I know that there will be a good turn out for this event. Rumor has it the River Street merchants' windows will be decked out in pink in honor of this worthy cause.
For more information, call Nancy at 887-4066 or Julie at 723-2044 (between hrs of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.).
Think, believe, and Wear Pink!

I am also a dog lover with 2 of my own, But for the Paint the Town Pink event I do believe it would be better on most of the dogs to not be in all of this. I know I will be walking in honor of someone very special to me. And would not want to see someone bitten or a dog hurt because I hope and pray we will have a very large turn out.

Come on Manistee PAINT THE TOWN PINK. Even if you can not do the walk just come on downtown and show that we all care.

Awww...Gracie (my sweet pup, shown left) thanks you for that. She feels the same way! And I would've bought her a pink bandana for the occasion! Well, I just might have to buy her one anyways!

And what a dumb rule, no pets on the riverwalk, duck, seagulls and geese poop all over but a well-intentioned citizen with their Lab and a plastic bag can't. Bull.

Excellent use of the blog there, Mrs. Saylor. You can enter it in to our online events calendar as well.
